Robot Wars is heading your way – Free admission for under 16s
The University of Greenwich, Faculty of Engineering and Science of the University of Greenwich, based in the heart of Medway at the Chatham Maritime Campus, is hosting Robot Wars from 23th to 25th September, 2016 for the second time.
The Engineering Departments are sponsoring this family educational event and are delighted to be able to offer FREE admission for under 16s/school children (must be accompanied by an adult) to watch the show.
This is a first for Robot Wars, and a great opportunity to experience the thrills and spills of battling robots and to see some of the famous robots including some of the star house robots of the hit TV series. This 1 hour long show is one not to be missed. It will also be an opportunity to meet and interact with the Universities own TV star, RoboThespian.
If you wish to arrange a school trip, please book promptly to avoid disappointment, as seats are limited and we expect the Friday sessions in particular to get booked up quickly.
During Robot Wars, we launched a brand new design competition. All school children who attended have been invited to submit design drawings for their own robots and 10 will be made.
Winning entrants now have the chance to bring their design to life at school with the support of the Engineering departments here at Medway. We will supply the base materials, the expertise and the use of our state-of-the-art engineering labs. In addition the winning teams will have regular visits from our specialist team of both academics and postgraduate students.
The teams will also be invited to participate in the 2016 performance bringing their robots to battle in the famous Robot Wars arena!
